While I love the beauty of a neutral beige linen or a white cotton sofa, the practicality factor basically kills my desire for one. With a three year old, a dog & a husband, I have to realize that spills will happen. So, to save myself from a fruit punch or marker heartbreak, I must turn my eye to other options when it comes to upholstery options. While deep charcoals, lighter grays & shades of brown are always a great option, I am really loving the use of colors that have been popping up lately.

The key to incorporating these into your home with out feeling like a circus is to keep the other items in the space a little more on the quieter side. By keeping the sofa as the vibrant standout piece & accenting it with pillows, area rugs & coordinating furniture it allows the sofa to stand out not STAND OUT! Personally I am really loving the idea of a deep royal velvet sofa instead of our chocolate behemoth we currently have. What color sofa would you venture to sit on?!?
